In the 25 games that Jeremy Lin started for the New York Knicks, he averaged 18.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 7.7 assists and two steals per game. Those are All-Star quality numbers if he were able to match them for the 2012-13 season.
He's not going to match them for a couple of major reasons.
First off, he started so hot that it skewed his numbers. In his last nine games, he came back to earth and showed a more realistic expectation for his production. He averaged 13.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.3 steals. He turned the ball over 3.9 times per game and shot just 39.1 percent.
Secondly, the NBA is a league of adjustments and once they figured Lin out, he began to struggle. Those numbers are more in line with a Jameer Nelson-type player and that was with much better talent in New York.
Now that he's in Houston, the talent level is much less and he's headed for a big time reality check.
