Photos claiming to show the iPad Mini battery have leaked online, revealing that Apple's much-rumoured pint-sized slate will sport a 4,490mAh juice pack.
The images, from an unknown source, were sent to MacRumours and depict a Li-on battery, sporting a model number of A1445 and an Apple part number of 616-0641.
The component isn't a final version as the incomplete information printed on it denotes but it could well be a prototype for the rumoured 7.85-inch tablet.
The Middle
It will come as no surprise that this battery is around three times the size as the iPhone 5's, and about a third of the size of the power pack found in the new iPad.
If this does turn out to be the battery for the iPad Mini, then it's pretty much on par with the competition, with the 7-inch Google Nexus 7 packing a 4,325mAh battery, while the Amazon Kindle Fire HD has a 4,400mAh offering.
It's still unknown whether Apple is planning to launch a smaller iPad, but the latest rumours suggest we will see Tim Cook take to the stage on October 23 to announce the iPad Mini.
