Dragon Quest former developer, Heartbox, is set to reform with details coming next year as former studio boss Manabu Yamana has announced through his official twitter account.
The team will reform and will be doing business in a totally different way than before and it?s hardly a surprise since Heartbox was active when the gaming industry was really different from today:?the studio developed Dragon Quest 6: Realms of Revelation for Nintendo 16 bit console Super Nintendo in 1995, a port of Dragon Quest 3 for Super Nintendo in 1996, Dragon Quest 7 for the first Playstation console and a remake of Dragon Quest 4: Chapters of the Choosen for Playstation.
Since then the team simply went out without any big announcement due to the rising cost of development.
Most of the the team members weren?t out of the industry though: most of them went to form Genius Sonority which worked on a few projects for Nintendo like Pokemon Colosseum and Learn with Pokemon: Typing Adventure. The team didn?t loose touch with the Dragon Quest world and produced a spin-off for the series called Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen.
Is the reforming related to some more potential Dragon Quest projects or will the team go onto something totally new? The answer will come next year!
